Hoodoos+Luxury Camping+Good Friends=A Great Weekend

It was so nice to get away for the weekend and we had a wonderful time with our friends. We spent time in both Zion and Bryce, played games, relaxed, ate good food, and just enjoyed being away from the daily grind. Later this week we'll post the entire album of pics on picasa and add a link to our webpage where you can view the album.

Saturday, we met up with Kevin & Adena in Zion National Park. We grabbed lunch at Blondies where we enjoyed some great burgers and fries. After some hiking in Zion, we made our way up to Duck Creek, UT where we rented a cabin for Saturday and Sunday night.

When we arrived, it was cold and raining. There was a problem with the wood stove and shortly after starting the fire, our cabin was filled with smoke. An hour later we were moved to this cabin up the road where we roughed it for the remainder of the weekend. The accommodations included 2500 square feet of luxury living with jacuzzi tub in the master suite...of course.

Sunday, we had a lazy morning then spent several hours in Bryce National Park. Neither of us had been before and it was amazing. The Navajo Loop with Wall Street, The Rim Trail, and The Queen's Garden were all memorable hikes and the weather was beautiful. A stop for ice cream cones on our way back to the cabin was the perfect way to end our day. Sunday night and Monday morning were spent playing lots of games: Apples to Apples, Settlers of Catan (twice), and Syzygy. We need to find some friends in Vegas to play games with. Thanks for meeting up with us this weekend Kevina - we had a great time! Wish we could have stayed longer.

That is my kind of "roughing it"! Wow, is all I can say! I am jealous! Can't wait to see more pics.

And why are you saying you need some friends to play games with? I hereby challenge you to a game of Settlers, where I will ANNIHILATE you! Actually I prefer Cities and Knights.

Looking at the pics and hearing your descriptions makes me want to go back! We had tons of fun, even if Mike did win Cities and Knights AND Syzegy. :) Those pictures turned out great! We can't wait to see the rest. I hope the daily grind isn't too depressing, and let's do this again sometime...
