The latest...

Mike's been working long hours doing settlement negotiations on a huge case that was about to go to trial. Only 1 defendant chose not to settle, and the trial starts Tuesday for them. Needless to say that means he's worked the entire weekend doing trial prep. Hope it doesn't last long! On top of all this, Mike's pro bono case has gone to court a couple of times in the last month. This last week they won! Mike was representing 10 y/o twins in foster care who were abandoned by their mother. The judge ruled to return the twins to their father in another state who had been searching for them for years! Seems like a no brainer, but it took over a year to accomplish. Just more evidence to show how screwed up the family court and CPS systems are.

We're still car shopping and had hoped to seal the deal this weekend but it didn't happen with Mike's work schedule. I rented a car last Tuesday after we discovered that Mike's sickness over the last two weeks was from carbon monoxide poisoning from the Blazer. We'll have to rent that car for another week and hopefully find time to buy something soon. We like the Toyota 4Runner, Highlander and Honda Pilot but just today my dad came across an article that a dealer in Henderson is offering 40-50% off their new SUVs - Dodge, Jeep, and Chrysler. We'll definitely have to check it out.

With Mike working so much, I ran errands and did chores most of the weekend. Saturday, I stopped at the car wash with the Camry and was told it was too dirty for them to wash! You've got to be kidding me!!! The guy told me to take it home and spray it down then bring it back - it's not even that dirty.

Saturday night we did find a little time to relax. We rented The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and sipped homemade Butterfinger milkshakes. Now it's on to another week of work. If I had any free time this week I'd hit up the great sales at: Yankee Candle, Bath & Body, Victoria Secret, and browse the end of season clearance at Dillards. Oh, and I also need a swimsuit, any suggestions?

we were at the old ward yesterday but didn't see you.

seriously CO2? that's crazy! we bought out Pilot a few months ago and LOVE it! Aaron really wanted the 4 Runner but I hated how small it was and I felt like my knees were in my chest. and it really drives like a truck. but the deals on American made can't be beat right now. we had a Jeep Grand Cherokee for 7 years before the Pilot and LOVED it. never had any problems with it and we drove it into the ground. car shopping-no fun.

swimsuits: downeast outfitters has some really cute ones I am dying to try in just a few weeks! good luck.

Hahah that car wash story is hilarious. It might be ridiculous, but at least you get a great "quick party story" out of it. How fun to do car shopping- I guess when you get time... :) It sounds fun. Hope Mike is ok with the monoxide poisoning issues.

I hate car shopping. I hate that I want a "new" car but hate that "new" cars lose so much value so quickly. We've had 4 Nissans that haven't given us any trouble at all and we've loved them. Brit's right, down east does have some cute swimsuits. My only question is how well-made they are, you know, with the right oomph here and the right hmmm there...
