A few weekends ago, we met my brother Matt and his fiance Jamie in death valley for a quick trip. It was so nice to see them and we had a great time. On Friday, we met up at Scotty's Castle, scoped out a camp site, ate lunch, then went hiking into a slate rock canyon, over the sand dunes, out onto the salt flats at Badwater and up salt creek to see the pup fish. We got back to the campsite after dark and Matt and I made dinner while Jamie and Mike set up our tents. We had Italian sausages with sauteed onions, bell peppers and shredded parmesan cheese, baked beans, a tortellini salad, chips, and smores for dessert. Saturday morning we had Mountain Pies which were awesome. Jamie brought the irons and we layered whole wheat bread, havarti cheese, bacon and an egg then cooked them in the coals of the fire. Breakfast was complete with hot chocolate and juice. We packed up camp and made our way to Scotty's Castle for a tour - which was so cool, then headed back home. All of that in about 24 hours, it was a lot of fun. Can't wait to see Matt and Jamie in Sacramento on June 5th for their wedding!

You forgot to include a picture of the dunes! I'm guessing it wouldn't fit in the collage.
