Mike has had chronic sinusitis for two and a half years and a recent CT scan showed his sinus cavities were impacted. Since drug therapy hadn't been successful, he had endoscopic sinus surgery this past Tuesday which included a septoplasty and turbinate modification. In English that means they cleaned all the gunk out his sinus cavities, straightened out his deviated septum so he'll be able to breathe better and modified his turbinates which also helps with breathing and should reduce drainage. He gets the nasal splints out Friday and has been a good patient.
