Merry Christmas! We've been enjoying our time off (despite the snow and the cold here in Washington). There has been as much snow in the last week as there normally is in the entire year and it doesn't look like it's going to let up anytime soon. There are probably 40"+ on the ground and it's too cold to melt. Luckily, none of our travel plans were affected (so far, knock on wood). Jeff and Brie flew in the 23rd and Matt came late Christmas Eve, we missed Jamie and only got to see Matt for 36 hours but it was so nice to be together.

Mike and I celebrated our Christmas together in Vegas before we left town. I made a nice dinner: tri-tip, homemade Italian herb bread, roasted carrots, mashed potatoes, a bottle of sparkling cider and apple crunch with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Then we opened presents from each other. Here in Spokane, we spent Christmas Eve at my Grandma's, where we had a wonderful Christmas dinner (shrimp, veggies and dip, fresh mixed fruit, salad, ham, potatoes, rolls, and yams & apples, with pumpkin pie, and marionberry pie for dessert). We also played games (courtesy of Uncle Kent - of which the favorite was Bethlehem Baby), then we opened presents from Grandma and she came home with us to spend the night and enjoy Christmas day together at my parent's house.

Christmas morning we opened presents and enjoyed a great breakfast (blueberry filled ebleskiver, bran muffins, fresh fruit, bacon, scrambled eggs, and fresh squeezed orange juice). We relaxed the rest of the day and had Uncle Kent, Aunt Dana, and Tyler join us for a dinner of baby back ribs, and potatoes on the half shell later that night. We've been enjoying having free time and seeing family. I must say though, the highlight of the trip has been my parent's Wii. We may just have to buy one in the near future...
