Another Favorite Recipe: Chocolate Cream Cheese Brownies

A family friend makes these for me every year when I'm home for Christmas because she knows they're my favorite; she brought over a whole plate of them this year. I asked for the recipe a few years back so I could enjoy them all year long. They're so good!

8 oz pkg cream cheese
2 1/3 C sugar, divided
3 eggs
½ C butter
¾ C water
2/3 C cocoa powder
2 C flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
½ C sour cream
1 C chocolate chips

Combine cream cheese, 1/3 C sugar and 1 egg in small bowl, set aside. In a saucepan, combine butter, water, and cocoa until melted (or microwave). Mix flour, remaining sugar, soda, salt, vanilla, 2 eggs and sour cream. Beat chocolate into flour mixture. Spread into a greased jelly roll pan (a.k.a. cookie sheet). Spoon cream cheese mixture over chocolate mixture and cut through batter with knife to marble. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Bake 375* 20-25 minutes.

Jen-
I use PS CS3 but have also used Elements. I did the free trial and liked it-very user friendly and cheap.
