2 Felony Burglaries
1 Grand Theft Auto1 attempted Grand Theft Auto
1 move (due to trauma associated w/the burglaries)1 stolen purse
2 car accidentsExposure to infectious diseases here
Wednesday morning, I had to make my way down to a police warehouse in the middle of the ghetto to claim 2 pieces of jewelry from our second burglary. Although I'm happy they've been returned, it brought back lots of bad memories from that 2 year period and renewed some of the heartache over everything we've lost.
Most upsetting to me is the loss of all of our pictures, and the remainder of jewelry from my parents and grandparents that will never be recovered (the value of which exceeded the limit on our insurance policy 4 times over, so we won't be replacing most of it). The most inconvenient loss would have to be that of our laptop and desktop computers (4 total, and although our laptops were backed up on our desktop and our desktop was backed up on our laptops AND we had a portable external harddrive that kept another backup copy of EVERYTHING - it was all stolen. Twice. For awhile we carried any posession of value we had left on person at all times). We're past that now. Either way, the experience Wednesday morning left me in a bad mood, and I had to resort to one of these later that day; but at least that chapter is finally closed. Here's to better luck in the future.

That is really sucky, but good that you got a few more things back. I didn't think that ever really happened (authorities actually recovering stolen items). We're still waiting for that phone call that Joe's moped was found in North Carolina. It was a cute little moped. And he only had the thing 3 weeks before it was stolen. So- how many more scary incidents before you two are scared out of Vegas?? :)
that is so sad...i don't know how i would handle stuff like that. talk about PTSD! that's so sad, hope it only gets better from here!!
